About Us

THE STORY OF HOW WE BEGAN...

From humble beginnings in a backyard caravan, the story of Two Men and a Truck is both personal and heartfelt. Since its inception in 1993, this family-owned business has taken its traditional values and matched it with forward-thinking vision, to grow from one truck to 47 trucks and carry out over 10,000 moves each year.

1993

Two Men and a Truck launches in Sydney with the purchase of our first truck. We had no idea of the incredible journey that lay ahead.

1996

Our very first office! Our founder Richard was politely encouraged by his wife Cheryl to move his office out of the family home and into the backyard, where he worked from a little caravan seven days a week.

1999

Goodbye caravan, hello shopfront. We’re moving up in the world, and into our first commercial office space at 22 Cammeray Road, Sydney.

2003

Battle to save our business from the clutches of Two Men and a Truck Inc USA. After 12 long months of lawyers and court hearings we successfully secured the trademark and our families future.

2004

Our first step into national expansion is made, as our Melbourne office is opened! A proud day indeed.

2005

It was a proud day when we acquired our membership into the Australian Furniture Removers Association (AFRA). We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings in that backyard caravan
We put the key in the door of our spacious office at 6 Herbert Street St Leonards. Not a moment too soon!

2006

Brisbane and the Gold Coast have popped onto the map as our newest offices. Our East Coast expansion plans are now in full swing.

Hello to our new Canberra Operations!

2010

MOVING TOGETHER PROGRAM

We’ve always been a compassionate group, right from the start. Whether it’s moving charities for free, helping out local community groups or flying to Vanuatu to support children’s education – we are right there.

This is why we’ve launched, ‘Moving Together’, our corporate social responsibility program. We wanted to consolidate all of our charitable activities into one overarching program that is designed to give back in a big way.

HERE ARE SOME QUESTIONS ANSWERED, TO EXPLAIN WHAT WE DO

WHAT IS MOVING TOGETHER?

By helping out at an internal, local and international level, Moving Together focuses on two areas: the environment and our community.

Through this program, we carry out activities that reduce our impact on the environment and we are always raising awareness around worthwhile causes, to support charities and community organisations

WHY DOES MOVING TOGETHER EXIST?

Apart from being personally important to everyone working at Two Men and a Truck, it exists to combine our charitable activities into a more meaningful model and hopefully inspire other businesses to take similar steps to become more sustainable.

We are passionate about creating a working model that shows other companies how they can be both supportive and sustainable.

WHAT KINDS OF PROJECTS DO WE SUPPORT?

Here are just some of the projects that have benefited from our pro bono support, through Moving Together.

  • - Pedal 4 Kids - The Sydney Children's Hospital
  • - Daffodil Day - The Cancer Council
  • - Pink Ribbon Day - The Cancer Council
  • - Radio Lollipop Ball - Brisbane Children's Hospital
  • - Jumpstart Monster Garage Sale - The Jumpstart Foundation
  • - Sponsoring the Anne Frank Exhibition currently traveling around Australia
