Two Men And A Truck Flexes Its Muscles To Help Move A Kids Charity

Sadly, thousands of kids in Australia spend more time in hospital than at home. And for many of these kids, hospital soon becomes boring.

Radio Lollipop is a Volunteer International Children’s Charity providing care, comfort and entertainment to sick children in 29 hospitals around the world. It helps to make their stay in hospital fun and entertaining.

Three of Queensland’s Radio Lollipop stations are relocating to new premises, so we stepped in to help them raise much-needed funds to make the move to the new Lady Cilento Hospital later this year.

The Radio Lollipop Fundraising Ball was held Rydges Southbank in Brisbane on Saturday 15th March, and there was no shortage of colour or entertainment at the event.

Adult guests at the ball had the chance to be kids again, sitting at craft tables, playing dress-ups for the photo booth, and participating in raffles with a bonanza 28 toys and prizes to be won.

Two Men And A Truck volunteered muscles, manpower and trucks to help transport the multitudes of toys and games and furniture needed for the event.

Radio Lollipop Australia’s Director Sandra Ursino OAM said the night was a huge success, raising over $21,000 for the charity’s relocation from the Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, Gold Coast Hospital (Southport Campus) and the Logan Hospital.

“The support from Two Men and a Truck ensured the success on the night by donating the services to load and unload everything needed for a successful event,” she said.

Event manager Nicci Korff said the boys were “just so fabulous and nothing was too much for them to help with”.

Two Men And A Truck was honoured to help with this worthwhile cause as part of our Moving Together Program, which aims to help support organisations at a local level.
